<p>Members of this family are ATP-dependent urea carboxylases, including characterised members from <taxon tax_id="89018">Oleomonas sagaranensis</taxon> (alpha class Proteobacterium) and yeasts such as <taxon tax_id="4932">Saccharomyces cerevisiae</taxon> (Baker's yeast). The allophanate hydrolase domain of the yeast enzyme is not included in this entry and is represented by an adjacent gene in O. sagaranensis. The fusion of urea carboxylase and allophanate hydrolase is designated urea amidolyase. The enzyme from O. sagaranensis was shown to be highly active on acetamide and formamide as well as urea.</p> Urea carboxylase
